I enjoyed that footage, a fantastic share. Thanks.
I enjoyed seeing the prominent place of Seisan kata , as this is one of very favourite forms. These days I practice the Aragaki version, but I love the Goju Seisan - you can see just by looking how it is packed with excellent close quarter responses.

I’m pleased you enjoyed that. Not that long ago really either.
I do like the Goju / Shito-Ryu version too. It’s not the one that I regularly practice, but when I have explored it, I have enjoyed the simplicity and seeming logical order to all that is presented. I’m far from being a “expert” on that version of the form, but I have a video on my thoughts on the first part of it. It was filmed two years ago and I’ve embedded it below. It may be of interest to some folks.
Excellent video thanks for sharing, seeing the differences with how I've been taught to perform some of those kata is quite interesting.
For example there's a shisochin around 10 mins in which the karateka blazes through the kata (not hurridely, but the timing and speed is just a lot different). I'd say it's a bit more Chinese looking and perhaps less aesthetic this way, which raises an interesting idea, perhaps I'm practicing a version which was altered to be easier (slower timing) and more aesthetic. Or perhaps the faster speed is viewed as more aesthetic in Okinawa and it was altered for that purpose? Very curious.
