Steel Mace training for Karate

I started incorporating steel mace into my karate conditioning regime almost 2 years ago. I can't say enough about how much my karate has improved. I just wanted to share some of the exercises I do.

More can be found on my youtube or instagram.

Thanks!

Great stuff, I may try a couple of these out. I have a 25lb macebell, so far I have mainly just done grave diggers and a couple of other exericises, these look excellent, if a little daunting.

Interesting! Where did you get the kit from? Not seen them before!

All the best,

Hi Iain,

There are lots of vendors that sell Steel Maces including Amazon. Onnit fitness has some good ones. I recommend starting with a 10lb weight to start. Its amazing how much resistance and pull you can generate with such a small weight. In addition, having the weight offset makes for some fabulous variations and replicates workgin on armbars and other leverage related techniques that are entirely applicable to karate or other martial arts.

Thanks for watching!
