Hi All,
Doing a little reading from the Hagakure and the following paragraph was of interest:
“While ornamentation on armour is unnecessary, one should be very careful about the appearance of his helmet. It is something that accompanies his head to the enemy’s camp.”
I think that the concern for how one’s decapitated head would look to the enemy is a great expression of the samurai mindset! I really like it and felt I’d share this little find.
All the best,
Iain
