Ju-Ka-Do

Has anyone ever heard of Jukado? It is a combination of Judo, Karate, Kung Fu and Aikido. I would like to know if anyone has train in this style and what it offers. 1) How many people here have trained in Jukado? 2) Is it practical on the streets? 3) Is it true that JuKaDo is more rounded than Judo or JuJitsu?

I always thought that Ju-Ka-Do was Bruce Tegner's system and was an anamgram of Ju - Judo Ka - Karate Do - Aikido

Doing a basic search of JuKaDo brings up a small amount of Context there are a few claiming the "Jukado" name but not too sure if its just various people having the same thoughts

I did find Stringer Ju-Ka-Do which is a valid JuKaDo school but added to the system from their own experiences

http://www.ukselfdefence.com/4.html

They have a course which I am definately attending to see the Tegner System in action

Your thought please

I fail to understand the purpose of making your own hybrid system like this.  It annoys me that people think it is simple to mix and match styles and systems.  A system like karate contains all that is needed for self protection ranging from joint lock (Aikido), throws (Judo) and striking so I seriously fail to see the necessity to add Judo and Aikido to Karate to create a new Ubber style...

I wrote a response but for some reason the page crashed and I lost it all, so my second attempt

Bruce Tegner isn't some McDojo martial artist. Wikipedia will uplift you also reading a few of his books.

I'm going to quote some very senior martial artists

Traditionalists often study what is taught, not what there is to create. Ed Parker

Traditionalists often study what is taught, not what there is to create. - Ed Parker

The intelligent man is one who has successfully fulfilled many accomplishments, and is yet willing to learn more. - Ed Parker

Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought. - Matsuo Basho

Do nothing which is of no use. - Miyamoto Musashi

If everyone was against Hybrids etc there would be only Naha Te, Shuri Te and Tomari Te. as if you use/practice the kata from these regions it is a hybrid and those who practice Classical Karate consider Traditional Karate as modern Hybrids who have no base etc. even Wado ryu is a hybrid of Jujitsu and Shotokan (which itself is a hybrid).

For Modern Hybrids, Ashihara, Enshin, Kyokushin, Daiko Juku, Krav Maga, Kippap, Keysi Fighting Method, Jeet Kune Do and others (I won’t list I would have pages ot them) are all as you said "simple ... mix and match styles and systems"

Ju-Ka-Do from what I have read about this and speaking to the founder prior to this post a far as I'm concerned is quite a valid style. (the founder having over 48 years’ experience in martial arts)
