New website thoughts and questions?

Hello Iain,

Its pretty good.!!!!  I do like it.

Been downloading all the podcasts and listening to them in the car.

Cant wait for more functionality over the next few months.

New videos and podcast to be added in the next few days (busy editing them together now!). The new media player will enable us to bring you a wider range of media and it’s a feature I fully intend to take full advantage of!

Thanks to everyone for kicking things off! Please be sure to let me know you thoughts about the new site. It’s always been my intention that this new site better serves the large community that built up around the old site. So consider it your site! (Don’t worry; I’ll still pay all the bills :-).

Let me know (either here or via email iain@iainabernethy.com) what you like, what you’d like more of, what you feel would help, and so on.

As I say, I want this site to be all you want it to be and hence be sure to let me know what you want. All thoughts and feedback will be gratefully received.

Hi Stuart,

There is no email notification of replies to posts on this forum. It's not missing due to error or fault; it's just not a function we have set up (it was used very infrequently on the old forum).

Shame - I like it and TBH use it on almost every forum/thread I ever post on - makes thing much easier and also occasionally brings old topics back to life! On many its automatic too :-(

We may add it in the future, but priorities are elsewhere at the moment. As I say, it was used very infrequently on the old forum and hence there would not seem to be a great demand for it. I’ll keep it in mind for the future though.

Hello Iain, I like your site. I visited the old one quite frequently, but haven't posted on that forum. I hope to have some input on this one.
As for now keep up the good work.
If something comes to mind, I'll make sure to drop an idea in this thread.

Has anyone else got a problem with the new website/podcast subscription?

Since the new website has gone live, I've been unable to get the RSS feed working, this means that I'm no longer able to subscribe to the poscasts and I have to manually download the MP3 files, then copy them to my MP3 player.

Hi Rig,

Have you changed the rss feed over? The podcasts were hosted on the blog (www.blog.iainabernethy.com), which has now been mothballed and all the new podcasts are hosted on this new site.

If you are still looking at the old feed then nothing has been added to that since the new site went live. The feed from this site is: http://iainabernethy.co.uk/rss_latest.xml I-tunes is also picking up the podcasts OK if that helps?

One thing I miss from the old forum was the ability to search by member, i.. the 'see all posts' function.

Sometimes, when I've been away for awhile, I forget which threads I was in or where they were lcoated.  Also, when I find someone who's ideas I like, I sometimes like to see what else they've written.  If you could bring back that function it would be cool.
