In search of single kata practioners

I'm trying to find other people like myself that practice a single kata.

I've come to realize that the way I practice karate has very different challenges than those who frequent a dojo. I've found it sometimes difficult to speak to other practioners, because our experiences are so different.

I can't be the only one to practice in this manner, so I'd like some help trying to find them.

Hi OnlySeisan,

Although i teach Shotokan, i only Practice Pinan Shodan/Heian Nidan (Pinan Version) seriously and indepth at home, which i have done for the past 3 years.

Not sure if this is any help.

Kind regards,

Jason

It is said that Sensei Chitose Tsuyoshi, founder of Chito-ryu karate, studied only seisan for the first seven years of his training.  That was a long time ago, and details are sparse, but you may want to research more about this pioneer of karate to further inform your own path.  I include a couple links which are not the whole story, but an interesting starting point.
