Suparinpei Charity Challenge

Message from Víctor López Bondía:

Charity Challenge

The Shinsokai is a very small group of Karate-do practitioners. Members of the Shinsokai will be performing Suparinpei kata108 times each, beginning at 10pm on December 31stand going through into New Years Day.

On December 31 at midnight, the New Year is welcomed in Japan with 108 bell chimes, during the Joya no Kane ritual taking place at the Buddhist Temples. According to Buddhist beliefs, 108 is the number of passions and desires entrapping us in the cycle of suffering and reincarnation. So, the 108 bell chimes symbolize the purification from the 108 delusions and sufferings accumulated in the past year.

Any donations to sponsor their effort will be donated to the Neuroblastoma Society through Emily Lever's justgiving page. She will also be running the London Marathon in April to raise money for this great cause.

The reason for choosing this charity is that Garry Lever's 5 year old nephew (http://www.youtube.com/user/garrylever06), Joe has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma which is a rare and highly aggressive childhood cancer. He is now having to endure numerous rounds of chemotheraphy which will be followed by surgery to remove his tumour, more high risk chemotheraphy and stem cell transplant. We are praying this treatment kills off all traces of the cancer however Joe will then be faced with months of immunotheraphy and radiotheraphy aimed at preventing a possible relapse. The Neuroblastoma Society raises funds to directly find better treatments and a cure so any donations will help to save not only Joe but all children who are forced to suffer this horrendous disease.

Please please please help them to help Joe and raise as much money as possible for this tremendous cause. Thank you so very much from the bottom of their heart.
