I’m working on the August newsletter at the moment. To make things easy for newsletter subscribers I thought it would help if I put all the videos we have done since the last newsletter update (July 8th) on this page. I’ve therefore embedded all the “practical kata bunkai” videos put out during that time on this page.
During that time we also put up the final part of the three part Extreme Impact drill. So that people can view the full drill more easily I’ve embedded all three parts on this page too.
I hope you enjoy the videos and there are plenty more to come!
Kris Wilder (co-author of ‘The Way of Kata’ & ‘The Little Black Book of Violence’) and I had a 45 min chat for his Martial Secrets podcast when I was in the USA last week. It was a fun discussion on stances, writing, my teachers, unhealthy (but delicious!) food stuffs, and a few other things besides. You can download and listen to the podcast via this link:
I’m working on the July newsletter at the moment. To make things easy for newsletter subscribers I though it would help if I put all the videos we have done since the last newsletter update (June 22nd) on this page. I’ve therefore embedded all the “practical kata bunkai” ones, and the “extreme impact” ones, that we’ve put out in the last couple of weeks. Many more to come!
To make it as easy as possible for people to find and view the impromptu videos I intend filming at various classes and seminars, I’ve set up a You-Tube channel for them. Not much up there yet, but I intend to add new stuff on a weekly basis.
Site regulars will be interested to know that a Facebook page has been set up around the “Ask me about your bruises” T-Shirts and the great cause they are raising funds for!
What you all need to do is get a T-Shirt, get your picture taken in it, and then get it up on the Facebook page! In the meantime, could all Facebook users be sure to give the page a “like” and spread the word on this great way for karateka to look cool and do a good thing! Thank you very much! I’ll now hand you over to Eric!
Most of our time and effort is spent producing media and providing information for which we make absolutely no charge. Help us continue to this provide service and get our ‘465MB Thank You Download’ for all donations large and small.

Here is your chance to train with Marc MacYoung in September! I’ve been a fan of Marc’s work for decades and it was great when I got to meet him in person last year. He’s a great guy, with a superb teaching style, and his material is as practical as it gets. This is not an opportunity to miss so be sure to contact Mick and let him know you would support this event. Mick Franklin is the organiser you can find all the details below. Be sure to contact him ASAP.
For our DVDs we always want to ensure customers have the “wow!” factor when they watch them. Times are hard and I want everyone who watches anything we do to know that their hard-earned cash was well spent. And that we cared enough to ensure that, not only was the DVD packed with useful information, but that the DVD was professionally filmed and edited.
We all like cool martial arts t-shirts and I have to say that one of my favourites is my “Ask me about my bruises” shirt that I got from Eric Parsons while in the US last year. Not only does it look cool and is quite witty, but I’ve made new friends and even got new students when total strangers have asked me about my bruises!
