This simple flow drill shows how the opening movements of Heian/Pinan Sandan can be applied. The elbow break and shoulder lock are not necessarily meant to be used as a combination. The drill merely provides an opportunity to apply the opening movements of the kata in a fluid manner.

Hi Shotokanman70 nice drill. On your clip there are very rigid and long breaks between techniques, was it done so it looks clear on video? Would be great one of flow bit more with smooth transitions. We do the transitional drill with this sequence of Punjab have look here:
Leszek, nice video.I'll have to try that one. The breaks and lack of flow were partly to show the application as well as to avoid injury. The end of the sequence is a shoulder lock which has to be applied slowly to avoid injury to the uke....especially when his shoulders are tight. Thanks for the feedback.
I thought so, safty first. Looking forward to more of your clips. Kind regards Les
Nice videos both! Thanks for sharing!
All the best,
Iain
