Thanks for sharing, Iain. I'm totally nabbing this one!!! LOL. I really like his application of the simultaneous low block, chest block here. Smooth and efficient, it seems to me.
Ooh, Seishin gi, very nice ;-)
I'm not sure about outwards kick though. If the kata wanted to show an outwards kick, then ti would do so by just doing an outwards kick.
Am loving everything else though!!!

Hia,
Yes, several of us use Seishin, but we are not sponsored (hint hint, nudge nudge, incase of any from Seishin watches this). :)
We do play withe bunkai, as the channel name suggest. (Playing With Bunkai). We have allso been playing around with that the "leg kick" is kicking the oponents other leg with a side stepping motion, but his outwards kick seems more natural to do, and is easier to do. And as André mention in the video. You "set up" your hip for the outwards kick.
No, the outwards kick is not clear in the kata, but one thing to keep in mind, is that many katas got altered when they where beeing showed to 100s of students at the same time... The details got lost..
But ultimately... we play with bunkai, and do not state that "our way" is correct. But this move do work. It's been tried in real situations with several occations .

Best,

Definitely good stuff! Several of these are my go-to applications, as it is, actually. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing Iain,
I'm just looking in to learning Naichanchi so this are useful :)
Kind regards
Les
A great find. And a succinct demonstration covering the entire kata and lots of important principles. I like it a lot.
Just taught a Tekki Shodan session today and we used several of the methods shown in the video.
Take care everybody,
Marc
