I like this Makiwari because it gives me things to block and grab while practicing angle and footwork. I have a couple bones in my left foot that aren't healed back yet so the kicks are a bit week. Still good to get out and practice. I iced my foot after while practicing power generation on uneven ground.
All the best

Very clever! I am very impressed by all your “junkyard dojo engineering”, but this one I particularly like. Looks fun!
So, most people would use an ice pack … maybe a bag of frozen peas in a towel … BUT Jeb “ices” his foot by doing weapon’s kata barefoot in the snow! You sir, are the Chuck Norris of Kansas :-)
All the best,
Iain
That's a wheely good idea.
That made me giggle … and I’m thoroughly ashamed of myself as a result :-)
I laughed too! The tire uke is a lot of fun! We were snowed in, classes were cancelled but I still got to train and then laugh at the jokes with my friends afterwards! So it was just another great day doing martial arts! :-) Thank you! Jeb
That looks great Jeb, maybe bit high?
I bet your neighbours love to watch "crazy guy" fighting scarecrow again ;)
Kind regards
Les
I usually use it for weapons and finger and toe strikes, it has target at Knee, chest and face height. I have a better one for normal Makiwari practice with stronger punches and kicks.
I'm not sure what the neighbors think, I've tried to run over and introduce myself when I catch them outside but they're always in a hurry! :-)
All the best
Jeb
“Look mummy, it’s the man who fights scarecrows!”
“Get in the car. Get in the car! You are not to speak to that man!”
Love it!
All the best,
Iain
