Computer hardware and training, particularly for app users

Looking to upgrade my computer support equipment for training, I have been a member of the app since about the time if first came out but the recent update to the app made it incompatible with my old ipads, got myself a chromebook for christmas and found out that it is also incompatible with the chromebook. I am interested in thoughts on good computer support equipment for training, Both for my specific question and in general.

Ideally I am looking for a tablet, that can run the app, has a hdmi output to display on a larger screen (they shut off screen mirroring in the last update as well), take video,  and is not rediculously expensive (a new Ipad for example).

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the support of the app!

Apple continuously update their operating systems and app developers have to ensure their apps keep up to date. Some of the older devices can’t run iOS 13 and that’s the problem. So, it’s not really the app update that made it incompatible, but the fact the older kit can’t run the latest Apple operating systems.

As it stands there are both Apple and Android versions of the app. There is no version for the Chrome OS operating system.

The app update has not shut off screen mirroring. That’s a function of the device and not the app. People can still screen mirror app content if they have a device and TV that supports it.

It sounds like you will need a tablet that makes use of the Android operating system, and that permits screen mirroring and the other specs you listed. I don’t personally make use of such a device (I use an iPad), but maybe someone here can help? Failing that, I hope the above helps in making your selection.

All the best,

Iain
