Interesting video covering self defence law in uk

This video gives an interesting oversight of uk self defence law.

Sums it up nicely.  There is a lovely caveat in s.76(4) Criminal Justice and Immigration Act that states along the lines of "not have to judge to a nicety the amount of force used".  Basically, if you believe someone has a knife and you trap his hand, then knock him out to prevent him using the knife, then the force used (in your honestly held belief) is warranted.

It is a really good video and I’d recommend looking at his other videos on related topics such as weapons law, etc. As a black belt and a barrister, he’s in a really good position to talk with authority on these topics. He also makes it digestible and easy to follow for the layman too.

All the best,

Iain
