Press Release: softcover edition of Karate Do Kyohan!

Press Release

February 14, 2013

The English translation of Karate Do Kyohan – Master Text for the Way of the Empty-Hand (2005 Collector’s Edition) - is now being re-released in an 8.5” x 11” softcover edition.

The book is 292 pages, digitally printed on white 10lb stock with a perfect bound 12pt color card stock cover, and is the same in content and layout as the original Collector’s Edition release of which only 1000 copies exist worldwide!

This classic Shotokan Karate Master Text written by Master Gichin Funakoshi is now being reprinted for the purpose of providing an accurate reproduction of the complete original 1935 Japanese publication, in an affordable format, preserving an historically accurate archive replica in the English language, with all of the original photos and artwork, to be experienced and enjoyed by all who truly appreciate its significance.

Kara-te Do Kyohan is Master Funakoshi's gift to mankind. An informed study will reveal that his focus in life was to share his knowledge and the benefits he acquired and experienced through a life of conscious self-discipline rooted in the principles of Karate Do.

This new softcover printing is being offered at a pre-release pricing of $30.00 + s/h and can be obtained by emailing admin@neptune-publications.com with your shipping address and the number of copies you would like to have.  You will receive a digital invoice that uses PayPal or a credit card with which to complete the purchase. Books are now being printed and a full international promotion is scheduled to start in March 2013.

Hi,

Iain, that's fantastic news. And 30 $ is far more affordable than 125 $ for the hardcover edition.

I ordered a copy as well. smiley

Thanks for letting us know.

Hi Iain,

that is great news, thanks for posting. I didnt know they even did a hardback edition, where do you get those from? Think the soft cover is going to make a nice fathers day present  of my little girl and step children : )

Kind regards,

Jason

Just out of interest, how does this version differ from any other version that you might find such as this:-

Hi Paul,

The key diffreance is that the version I talked about above has all the original pictures i.e. Funakoshi himself performing the techniques. The version in the link does not and has others performing the methods in order to reflect Shotokan’s evolution. The above book is great and definitely one all karateka should own.

All the best,

Iain
