Does anyone have any experience with Bow and Arrow?
I have an old solid piece recurve bow, and the upper limb is starting to twist. Anything to be done with it?
Or is it time to hang it on the wall and get a new Bow?
Thanks
PS - Iain, if this isn't an appropriate place or topic, do as you will with the post.
My other half bought me a recurve bow for Christmas although in honesty I don't use it anywhere near as much as I'd like to.
Archery is a Martial Art, right?
There are plenty of archery clubs around the country so if no-one here can advise I'm sure you'll find someone easily
I'd like to think its a type of Kobudo.
We allow Kyudo, so why not Western Archery.
My bow was new in 1979. It's probably time to mount it on the wall, and get a new one.
I’d agree. I’ve done a little because of eldest son did archery for a few years. Very technical and interesting. He wasn’t a fan of Clout archery (having the arrows drop down as close as possible to a flag on the ground) until I pointed out its battlefield significance. A game of Anglo-Saxons vs Norman – i.e. “how many shall we say you killed?” – make it more fun for a little while ;-) But the target shooting was definitely his favourite.
All the best,
Iain
