Here is a video from an Australian news website that shows a girl having her mobile phone stolen. She’s dozing when it happens and the clip shows the thief give several indications of what he is about to do. Of course she misses them because he is sleeping … with a valuable item in her hand. A good illustration of how behaviours can make us an attractive target. Obviously the responsibility ultimately lies with the thief, but that does not take away from the fact that awareness and keeping valuables hidden can mean we will not be targeted if the first place.
All the best,
A commuter has filmed a brazen thief in a lightning-fast snatch attack, stealing a passenger's phone in the blink of an eye before making his escape.
Footage of the incident, which took place on a train in Budapest, was taken by a passenger who noticed the man acting suspiciously.
The suspenseful clip shows the man biding his time before quickly snatching the phone and running through the train’s doors.
The victim is powerless to react as the man slips out the door as it closes.
After going viral overseas, the 28-year-old man was eventually tracked down by police in Budapest and confessed after being arrested.
Local media identified the man as B. Tibor, and he is believed to be a suspect for a string of other thefts.
