Kindle, Jissen and E books, help needed please!
I'm not the most technological person going but I've gone and bought myself a Kindle. I have to say I love it, easy to use etc I have all my copies of Jissen plus the e books from this site and I'd love to put them on to the Kindle, it would be really useful however I don't know if it can be done and if it can how to do it, reading manuals doesn't help, they make my head buzz lol. Is there anyone who can help me please?

Tez,  I also have a Kindle and it's quite simple to download files. Connect  to PC via USB port and your Kindle appears as a mass storage device; drag and drop or save to:  You can also send the files to your  Amazon registered e- mail address as "name"@free.kindle.com then download using your  wifi connection. Hope that helps.

I have a Kindle too and I tried to read some pdf-Files on it. I got much better results using the convert-option as discribed here:

Option to Convert PDF Files to Kindle Format

If you prefer to have your personal PDF documents converted to the Kindle format so you can take advantage of Kindle functionality such as variable font size, annotation, Text-to-Speech, etc., type "Convert" in the subject of the e-mail when you submit your personal document to your @kindle.com address.

Image-heavy PDF files are presented in landscape orientation and don't work with devices that have auto-rotation, so those will be delivered in the Kindle format.

We’ve just started looking at converting the printed books into kindle editions as it happens. Richard (the unseen webgod who protects this site from my technical ineptitude) has done all the testing and we’ve got all the details of the process from the good people at Amazon. I’ll keep you informed as things progress :-)

All the best,

Iain

It's brilliant having things you can reference at your fingertips! it's cool of course having the fiction you want to read with you but being able to look up Jissen articles easily is a real bonus, my martial knowledge is getting better but it helps me immensely to be able to have experts on hand. I've also bought a book on stretching for martial arts so am building my own reference library.

Iain, your books on Kindle would be great, I'll probably be your first customer!

I won’t be adding Jissen to Amazon’s kindle store because it is free. You can however add it to kindle devices using the method described in the post above:: http://iainabernethy.co.uk/content/kindle-jissen-and-e-books-help-needed-please#comment-1711

I don’t own a kindle (I prefer paper :-) but all issues are PDFs so it should be easy enough to add them.

All the best,

Iain
