If you've not seen the type of training we create for participants, this video gives an outline of some of the most basic stages:

We've recently changed our setup to give us more flexibility with our training space in terms of room size and shape and allow the possibilities provided by doors.  This has also enabled me to switch our footage review to a big screen for greater clarity in giving feedback.

It's not always serious though!

We run a broad range of scenarios.  Some only go physical if a participant displays the wrong body language, some were always going to go physical.  The participants never fully know what's going on, who's going to do what, how each person will behave until the scenarios are over.  The training is as much about your awareness and de-escalation skills as about your development of the ability to function under unusual physical pressure.

This type of event is open to a broad range of people and in the past I've had 6th Dans and complete beginners all learning from each other on the same day.
