Anyone in South Africa?

Is there anyone in South Africa, preferably Cape Town, keen on getting together for a training session?

Hi!,

Are you with JKA South Africa?

I'm in Canada but may be interested to study in Cape Town. Are there many dojos?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike

Yip JKA, I train with Jon Williams here and there are two major Cape Town dojos, with a number of others in the outlying areas. So if you do come through give me a shout!

Have a good one

Andrew

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the info.

Another question: are there any pragmatically oriented dojos in Cape Town? Looking into close-in kata bunkai?

Thanks,

Mike

Hey Mike,

Hence my original question wink. Our dojo cross trains with other grappling, judo, ground guys etc quite a bit, but isn't what  I would call pragmatically orientated. Most dojo's here say that they offer practical karate but I would say most are competition driven.

Not to say guys aren't open to close-in bunkai, it is just a bit of a pradigm shift, so hopefully I will be able to find a couple like minded people. Will let you know!

Have a good one!

Hi Ken

Thanks, I trained a few times back in the early 90's with Hoosain Narker, quite dynamic and has done quite a bit for karate in South Africa.

I have pm'd you so if you have a look at that, thanks!

Andrew
