Has anyone used this theory before if your pinned up against a wall?
Well, not in real life, but in training, certainly. (Never been pinned up against a wall for realz :) )
"Finding the void" is good basics for most situations. Just read Rory Miller talking about how human natural reaction is to fight against the force coming at us, preventing us from finding the easy way out through "the void".
Works well with a lot of locks, too.
Not with multiple people, but yeah..the principle is solid against forward energy...Rory Miller has some simple, but surprisingly enlightening drills for this concept. How you are oriented to their body makes a big difference though, inside or outside a limb etc.
